7th Grade ELA Data
My students have shown significant growth both academically and personally. I teach four core 7th grade ELA classes, and each class has a specific expected proficiency goal. Core 1 has a goal of 57%, Core 2 has a goal of 27%, Core 3 has a goal of 96%, and Core 4 has a goal of 69%. Throughout the year, my students have worked incredibly hard to reach and even exceed these goals, both as a class and as individuals.
One strategy that has supported this growth is goal-setting and progress tracking. Students set personal academic goals and use data trackers to monitor their grades and performance. This helps them take ownership of their learning and stay motivated. I also maintain a progress monitoring system to ensure that I am providing targeted support and adjusting instruction based on their needs.
In previous years, my students have demonstrated strong academic improvement as reflected in EVAAS data, where I met expected growth goals for two consecutive years. Beyond test scores, I have seen meaningful growth in students’ confidence, engagement, and willingness to take academic risks.
These outcomes reflect the power of consistent support, high expectations, and a classroom culture focused on growth and achievement.
