Cultivating our Community, Inspiring Futures

Discover how I contribute to our vibrant school community, going beyond the classroom to foster a supportive and engaging environment for students and staff alike. My dedication extends to every corner of our school, creating connections and celebrating cultures.

Beyond the Classroom Walls

My commitment to our school community goes far beyond my teaching role. You'll find me supporting students at school dances, meticulously planning engaging field trips for our grade, and cheering on our athletes at their sports games.

I also take pride in mentoring a beginning teacher, helping them navigate their first years with confidence and expertise.

These activities are not just tasks; they are opportunities to connect, support, and foster a truly vibrant school environment.

Leading initiatives, building connections

I've had the privilege of leading and contributing to several key initiatives that highlight my dedication to our school and students. I founded "Latina Glow," the first Latino Club at our school, creating a space for cultural celebration and empowerment.

I'm also the proud sponsor for our International Week Parade, an event that brings our diverse community together.

All Connected

I help make sure all families feel informed and connected by translating our weekly newsletters for Spanish-speaking parents. I also enjoy supporting my colleagues with phone calls to Hispanic households, helping build strong relationships and clear communication with our families.

I take pride in organizing field trip logistics and managing payments with care and attention to detail, so everything runs smoothly and students can fully enjoy these special experiences. I also provide Spanish translations of permission slips to ensure every family feels included, supported, and confident in staying involved.

Team Work, Makes the Dream Work!

I work closely with our Spanish teacher as her mentee, sharing best practices and support.

Within my Professional Learning Community (PLC), I help translate key terms from our lessons, making sure all students can fully engage and understand.

A story of cultural celebration and impact

In my first year at CMS, I initiated a Latino Club, proudly sponsored by LEAL-DPS. I made it a priority to showcase my students' activities and how they embraced their cultures, which helped us secure funds for a celebratory event.

Alongside Mr. Henriquez, we organized a fantastic gathering where students enjoyed breakfast and traditional games. With the funds raised, we were able to purchase numerous traditional board games for the school, ensuring all our students could benefit from and engage with diverse cultural experiences.

This initiative not only celebrated their heritage but also provided lasting resources for our entire student body.

I am committed to representing Honduras with excellence in everything I do.
